As'salamu alakum! My Muslim brothers and sisters. It's coming up! The most blessed and holy month... Ramadan. It's that time of year again. Where we shut out all these distractions from these outer forces and please Allah through our prayers and our fasting. Ramadan is a time were we can ask Allah for forgiveness and  that he will help guide you to the straight path (Ameen). Ramadan is a new beginning where we do good deeds like give charity and pray. Ramadan is the best time of the year. Ramadan is a time where  families come closer together to do good deeds. Ramadan is a month were you can become closer to Allah the almighty. Inshallah may the month of Ramadan be an easy time for everyone and hope that everyone gets the benefits of Ramadan.

ps. I'll be posting hadiths and dua's you guys can read also a way for everyone to finish the Quran in 30 days :D

Respect and Islam

In my high school I had learned about the LGBTQ (lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transsexual and Queer etc... ) community and where I heard about horrible experience a lesbian student at her university had faced by Muslim man who had physically beat  the student unconscious and had urinated on her. This is sickening. We know that in Islam it is haram to be Gay. But as a Muslim it is our duty to respect people no matter their colour, their view on Islam or who they choose to love or marry. Things like this give Muslims a bad reputation. We Muslims are known for the  respect we give to others if they Muslim or not. Actions like this give the Islamic community a bad look. We Muslims are already facing so much discrimination and hatred from 9/11. This is not the time to be hurting people on the street or at school. This is the time we show what Islam is really about Peace, love and respect. I hope I have given people an understand of what Islam stands for. Even if someone is doing haram it is not any ones place to intervene but to help guide them. As Muslims we show our respect and not act upon the stereotype that has been placed on us.

With the poor

Many people today view manners in a commercial light. To them, only rich people’s jokes are worth laughing at, and only their faults are considered small and worthy of overlooking. As for the poor, their jokes are unbearable and only worth of ridicule, while their faults are magnified and they are shouted down.
As for the Prophet (peace be upon him), his kindness extended to both rich and poor alike. Anas - may Allah be pleased with him - said,
“There was a man from amongst the Bedouins whose name was Zahir bin Haram. Whenever he came to Madinah for a need, he brought something for the Prophet (peace be upon him) as a gift, like cottage cheese or butter. Likewise, the Prophet (peace be upon him) would prepare something to give to him whenever he wanted to leave, such as dates and so on. The Prophet (peace be upon him) used to love him and say: “Zahir is our Bedouin and we are his city-dwellers.”
Zahir was not very good looking. One day, Zahir - may Allah be pleased with him - left the desert and came to Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) but did not find him. He had some merchandise to sell so he went on to the marketplace.
When the Prophet (peace be upon him) found out about his arrival, he went to the marketplace looking for him. When he arrived, he saw him selling his merchandise with sweat pouring down from his face, and he wore Bedouin clothes which did not smell good either. The Prophet (peace be upon him) hugged him tightly from behind, while Zahir was unaware and could not see who it was.
Zahir became scared and said: “Let me go! Who is this?” But the Prophet (peace be upon him) remained silent. Zahir tried to release himself from his grip and started to look right and left. When he saw the Prophet (peace be upon him), he relaxed and calmed down, placing his back against the Prophet’s chest. The Prophet (peace be upon him) began to joke with him, saying to the public: “Who will buy this slave?! Who will buy this slave?!”
Thereupon, Zahir looked at himself and thought of his extreme poverty, for he had neither wealth nor good looks.
He said: “You will find me unmarketable, O Messenger of Allah.”
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “But you are not unmarketable with Allah. You are very precious to Allah.”
It was no surprise then that the hearts of the poor were attached to the Prophet (peace be upon him). He would gain their respect and love by such an attitude. Many poor people may not accuse the rich of miserliness in terms of wealth and food, but they can certainly accuse them of miserliness in terms of gracious and kind treatment. How often do you smile at a poor person and make him feel he is worthy and respectable, so that perhaps at night he might supplicate for you and cause Allah’s mercy to descend upon you from the heavens?
There may be a person with dishevelled hair who is rejected and not cared for, but if he ever asks Allah for something he is always responded. Therefore, always be humane with the weak.

A brother like that

Shuaib received an automobile from his brother as an Eid present. On Eid day when Shuaib came out of his house, a street urchin was walking around the shiny new car, admiring it. “Is this your car, Uncle?” he asked. Shuaib nodded. “My brother gave it to me for Eid.” The boy was astounded. “You mean your brother gave it to you and it didn’t cost you nothing? Boy, I wish…” He hesitated. Of course Shuaib knew what he was going to wish for. He was going to wish he had a brother like that. But what the lad said jarred Shuaib all the way down to his heels. “I wish,” the boy went on, “that I could be a brother like that.” Shuaib looked at the boy in astonishment, then impulsively he added, “Would you like to take a ride in my automobile?” “Oh yes, I’d love that.” After a short ride, the boy turned and with his eyes aglow, said, “Uncle, would you mind driving in front of my house?” Shuaib smiled a little. He thought he knew what the lad wanted. He wanted to show his neighbors that he could ride home in a big automobile. But Shuaib was wrong again. “Will you stop where those two steps are?” the boy asked. He ran up the steps. Then in a little while Shuaib heard him coming back, but he was not coming fast. He was carrying his little crippled brother. He sat him down on the bottom step, then sort of squeezed up against him and pointed to the car. “There it is, little brother, just like I told you upstairs. His brother gave it to him for Eid and it didn’t cost him a penny. And some day I’m gonna give you one just like it…then you can see for yourself all the pretty things in the Shop windows that I’ve been trying to tell you about.” Shuaib got out and lifted the boy to the front seat of his car. The shining-eyed older brother climbed in beside him and the three of them began a memorable ride. That Eid, Shuaib learned what the RasulAllah (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) meant when he had said: “love for your brother what you love for yourself”.

Brothers and sisters, don't forget each letter you say when reading the quran is a reward for you, and each reward is written for you as ten by Allah's generosity.

So in Bismillah arRahman arRaheem 19 letters which means 190 rewards! Just by doing the bismillah without even starting you gained 190 rewards InshAllah.

So how about doing ayas and repeating when you memorize?

It is truly an offer from Allah we cannot refuse. It is the chance of a lifetime truly because some of the scales on the day of Judgement may only need one reward for it to be heavier and open up the way by Allah's mercy to the Jannah!

We ask Allah the sincerity, the truthfulness, the acceptance, the good abode at the hereafter.

Ameen
